A few years ago I retired from one of the most enjoyable jobs in the world. As an elementary art teacher in the Elizabeth Forward School District I spent a lot of my time making every lesson a positive learning experience. Coming home each night to my family made my life complete, but left me very little time to focus on creating my own art.
Sitting on my back deck that first autumn of “freedom” I saw a little blurb in the paper about a watercolor class taught by Sue Levy at Baldwin Library.
Up until then, I had only worked with watercolors directly from that little metal box, using plain drawing paper. After picking up all the supplies Sue listed for that first class, I started painting and immediately fell in love with the light, the flow, and the spontaneity of this medium. It lit a fire inside of me. My husband and daughters became my biggest fans, always encouraging me.
Now my days are mine to fill and I just love to paint!
