Join in on a day of “Introduction to the World of Sketching” with Victor Beltran!

Victor Beltran, is an accomplished artist, architect and art teacher. He has won numerous awards and has exhibited in the US including at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, the Peruvian Embassy Gallery, and Brazil.

A native of Lima, Peru, Victor has over 45 years of experience in architecture, illustration and watercolor. Victor is an accomplished watercolorist and teacher and past Vice-President of the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society. 

This full-day workshop will focus on urban sketching techniques and practices. Participants will learn and apply sketching techniques with Victor. Victor, recognized for his stunning artistic works, has over 30 years of experience producing thousands of sketches and watercolors on locations throughout the US, Canada, Central and South America, and Europe. 

Victor will explain and demonstrate the use of different pens, pencils, papers, inks and watercolors to develop sketching techniques and skills. He will have sketchbooks on hand for viewing and illustration. His workshops are highly motivational, engaging and allow time for participants to practice and obtain constructive feedback.

Participants in this workshop will:

  • Develop skills to approach a variety of common urban sketching subjects. 
  • Learn basic urban sketching techniques in pencil, ink and watercolor.
  • Develop confidence and enjoyment in on-location sketching. 
  • Create sketches using skillful techniques and a variety of methods

The workshop works well for all levels.
