Pittsburgh Watercolor Society (PWS) presents the WaterWorks exhibit each year as an excellent opportunity for all Pittsburgh Watercolor Society members to showcase new works in watercolor and other water media.
The 2023 Waterworks exhibit will be in person at Sweetwater Center for the Arts 200 Broad Street, Sewickley, PA 15143

ELIGIBILITY: This exhibit is open to PWS Juried members, working primarily with water-based media on a paper surface (YUPO and Tyvek are permitted) and unvarnished. No canvas. Mediums include: watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, egg tempura and water-based inks. No oils, oil pastels, pastels, class work, digital images, any form of print or reproductions, no more than 10% collage.

Each PWS member may exhibit one (1) work. Work must be completed within the past 3 years and not have been exhibited in any previous PWS show. Works must be matted and framed and ready to hang. Frames may be black wood, black metal or gray and must be no wider than 1 1/2 inches. Artwork should be matted in white or off white, acid-free board.

AWARDS: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash awards and two awards of merit will be announced at the opening reception on June 16. People’s Choice will be announced July 21 at the close of the exhibit.
SALES: All Works must be for sale. Sales will go through Sweetwater Center for the Arts and they will take a commission of 40%. They will be responsible for delivery of the work to the purchaser. The artist will receive 60%. So, price accordingly.
